The BAM Local Development Corporation and the BAM Cultural District

The BAM LDC is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create the BAM Cultural District—a vibrant, mixed-use, multicultural arts district in Downtown Brooklyn that will be a resource for the arts, the local community and the borough Brooklyn, and the city as a whole. The District will convert currently vacant parking lots and underutilized property into affordable space for nonprofit visual, performing and media arts groups, as well as arts-related educational offerings, a mix of housing, public open space to be programmed for arts and recreation, and amenities such as restaurants, cafés, retail and parking.
